Our High Tea Spirit is the one that most divides opinion. Some absolutely love it and are already onto their second bottle, others taste it and go “nup”.

We were wondering why - turns out those most in the nup category are gin drinkers.

Whilst High Tea has lovely citrus & botanical notes like a gin, its ‘dryness’ of flavour comes from the tea - gin drinkers are used to the ‘dryness’ coming from juniper.

We started off at our tastings, saying “this is our option closest to a gin” - we won’t be saying this anymore!! We have realised that then people are looking for the juniper flavour, and when they don’t get it, they close off from allowing themselves to appreciate the flavours as they are. It is like we have been saying “this is a breed of dog”, so they expect a dog, when actually it is a cat!

So…High Tea is High Tea. It has soft citrus notes with the ‘dry’ flavour of tea.

And just like you rarely drink gin neat, our serving suggestions for High Tea include:

  • With soda water if you are a big normal tea drinker. Add a shot of our Vivid Orange Liqueur if you usually put sugar in your tea cup.
  • With tonic water if you are a gin drinker and want to add in some of that flavour that is familiar to your palate.
  • With cola for an alternative to bourbon.
  • As a replacement for the gin, vodka and rum in a Long Island Iced Tea cocktail.

P.s. High Tea is Nina’s favourite out of all our spirits & liqueurs, so it will continue to be part of our range regardless of gin drinkers
